Light pollution, and plain old pollution can be blamed for the lack of viable, Its a worth while endeavorer to drive way off in to rural lands on a clear night just to watch them cross the sky,
After moving to the middle of the city, I can honestly say the thing I miss most about growing up in a rural farm town was being able to go stargazing in my backyard. Now, if I want to do that I have to drive an hour and pay to get into a park of some sort.
I love it.
